The event exceeds my original expectation! You can find my first Disunion piece via the online edition of today’s New York Times.

When I discovered Disunion last spring, I thought it was a stand-alone Civil War commemoration blog. I discovered only recently that on-line subscribers can go to the Op-Ed page, scroll down to Opinionator, click, then scroll down to Disunion, and click again. Better Rules for the Road, a companion piece, on the balance of Haupt’s remarkable innovations for the USMRR from August 1862 through August 1863, is slated to appear in mid-August. And I hope to have a couple  of pieces about Francis and John Bailey in October 2013 and April 2014.
