Curiosity: forget “Cherchez la femme” (Look for the woman.) “Cherchez l’histoire.” (Look for the story.)

Extended Family-Part 2

We spent a delightful week at the Executive Inn on the Oakland slough. Not only could we see San Francisco across the Bay, the location brought back very old memories of the day I met my late first husband on a windless sailboat ride in the slough: I was drawn to the way he cracked jokes.

We had a nice holiday dinner with my son John, who lives in Berkeley, before settling into fun with Kai, which included the circuit around Lake Merritt: him on scooter, us walking; a day at the Chabot Space & Science Center, and adventures at the Oakland Zoo..
